Farewell

As we near the end of the teaching year, we salute two giants of education who will be leaving at the end of 2017: Mr Nigel Hamilton and Mr Vincent Aiyappan. Both have dedicated their lives to improving the lives of others and we wish them a fond farewell and hope the next chapter in their lives is fulfilling.

Year 7 Curriculum

Year 7 students have begun a new curriculum initiative – they are creating their own political parties and voting for them. Each group has to come up with a political party name and slogan and convince voters to vote for them. They will be coming up with policies in a number of areas to woo voters. We have introduced this new mini-unit to improve the political literacy of our students. Future initiatives will be coming to Year 8 and Year 9 in coming years. We are lucky to live in a stable vibrant democracy in Australia, it is important that the education we give the next generation sustains this.
