Principal's Report

What a great last two weeks we have had! Our F-2 students were stars at their house sports event, Year 6s had a great time at camp, congratulations to Josh C who finished 5th at Victorian State Track and Field Championships and the good news - Summer is finally here! As the weather becomes warmer it is important that your child has appropriate school wear. Only school uniform items are to be worn to and from school and whilst at school. Please also speak with your children about keeping cool at school, we have already started to experience a number of blood noses from children overheating with jumpers and long pants on!
World Teachers Day
A huge thank you for all the work that each and everyone one of our teachers does. Every day, each of our teachers are supporting children and young people by improving student outcomes and shaping their lives for future success.
World Teachers' Day was celebrated in Australia on Friday 25 October (thanks to those parents who provided morning tea for our teachers too!). The day is a great opportunity for everyone to recognise and appreciate teachers and the important role they play in shaping the next generation. As we all know, teachers matter! They do an amazing job and World Teachers' Day is a most worthy occasion to acknowledge the work of our teachers.
Every day our teachers give each child a special gift of learning. They inspire both students and colleagues alike, transporting children into new spaces and places. They develop ideas and skills and know every child as an individual. They craft the learning to ensure it has great meaning and relevance for every child’s future. They teach children to be good people, to be inclusive of others, not just at school but for the community, nation and beyond. Teachers are encouragers and are there to guide and support children to overcome obstacles. They listen and love learning themselves, motivated and excited by the everyday experiences of school life. They understand the importance of their influence and the ultimate responsibility they have to improve the life chances for all children, for a better world.
It is such an important job! We thank and honour all BPS teachers. You do an amazing job!

FAMILY MATHS NIGHT
Thank you to all the many families who came along to Family Maths Night and their involvement and fun they had playing a great variety of maths games and activities.
Also a bit of fun with the double rainbow appearing above our school. THnaks to Siena D (2D) for coming up with some maths problems related to the double rainbows after the children were asked at assembly.
A huge thank you to our Maths committee for organising the night.
