From the Principal

Ms Noelene Hussey

Dear Families

“On this day of joy, we are all called to contemplate the Child Jesus, who gives hope once again to every person on the face of the earth. By his grace, let us with our voices and our actions give witness to solidarity and peace. Merry Christmas to all!”

Pope Francis, Christmas 2016

I am sure you will agree with me that we are all so grateful that we have almost completed a year of school where our children have been able to be taught face to face each day! And now, it is hard to believe that the school year is coming to an end.

I am very proud of our children and all they have achieved this year, whether it be their academic growth, creativity in the Arts, success whilst playing sport or their social interactions with their friends. 2022 has had its challenges with COVID  and children and staff absences but we have been resilient and remained positive throughout the year and endeavoured to do our best at all times. We are now ready for our summer holidays to enjoy our break with family and friends.

Congratulations to all our children on the way they participated in our Christmas celebration last Thursday. Our children sang our carols beautifully and it was great to see our community catching up with one another and enjoying themselves. Thank you to Elizabeth Grieves for organising the Carols and to all our staff who helped to prepare our children to perform on the night..

Congratulations to our Year 6 children who will graduate tonight (Wednesday). We are very proud of them and we wish them well in their future studies and endeavours. This is always a very special celebration for our children and families as we say goodbye for the final time. Thank you to our Year 6 teachers and Simon Maltese for organising the celebration and the liturgy the children participated in during the day.

We will have our Thanksgiving Liturgy tomorrow at 11.40am  Our Prep to Year 5 children will be attending to celebrate the end of the year and all our achievements throughout 2022.

I would like to thank all members of the St Anne’s school community for your support during 2022. It has been a pleasure working with you this year and celebrating the successes of your children.

I hope you have a very restful and peaceful Christmas so you can enjoy the festive season. Enjoy your holidays with your family and make sure you relax and enjoy our summer weather. If you are travelling stay safe and I look forward to seeing you all again at the end of January.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our members of our School Advisory Committee and PFTA for all your hard work and what you have contributed to our school. Our School Advisory Council has assisted us with their input into planning and supporting the decisions that have been made to ensure our school continues to make improvements.  Their ideas and perspectives on how we can best support our children and families has been most appreciated.  I would like to thank Sarah Magro who is retiring from our SAC. I thank her for her input in making our school a better place for us all.

Thank you to our families who are leaving St Anne’s at the end of this year. Some families have been with us for over 20 years. We wish you all the best and thank you for the contributions you have made to our school.

Thank you to our dedicated staff who strive to meet the needs of the children in their class. I can’t thank you enough for your enthusiasm, hard work, care and support to ensure our children love coming to school each day.

Finally, thank you to our children for the respect they have shown one another and their teachers. Our children have worked hard this year and have achieved great results. They certainly deserve their Christmas break. I thank them for their cheery smiles and always trying to do their best. I wish our Year 6 students all the best at their new schools next year

To all our community - Have a Merry and Blessed Christmas

When our children met their new teachers and classmates there was a great sense of excitement and anticipation by both children and teachers. When we place children in classes we always look at academic ability, social and emotional wellbeing and then friendships. A lot of time and effort has gone into placing children in their 2023 classes. The teachers were all pleased with their new classes and are looking forward to working with them throughout next year.
