Junior School

Years 7 to 9

Step Up

On Friday, we concluded our end of year Step Up Program.  We were delighted with the way that Junior School students engaged with their learning in each of their new subjects and interacted with their peers and teachers.   It is testament of their efforts that we were able to award over 200 certificates to students who demonstrated the College’s values of Respect, Achievement, Innovation and Diversity.  This recognition of achievement continued at our GSC Presentation Night on Tuesday.   Congratulations to all our Yr 7-9 students who received awards on the night.  We finished Step Up with a vibrant Colour Run and a chance to unwind and socialise with music and food during an extended lunch break.  From the Junior School team we wish all families a happy and safe holidays.

Grade 6 Orientation Day

On Tuesday December 13th we welcomed 167 Grade 6 students for the State Wide Orientation Day. We started the day with an assembly welcoming all of our future Year 7 students. We completed tours of the College as well as “getting to know me” activities. The students spent periods 2, 3 and 4 rotating between English, Math and P.E. classes. The students looked at Haiku poems, fun Math games and tabloid sport games. We enjoyed a BBQ at lunch and braced the cold weather. We ended the day with a “getting to know my teacher” activities and “getting to know each other” activities. It was an excellent day and enjoyed by all!
