GTAC Robotics Excursion

On Thursday 10th November select Year 7 and 8 students went on an excursion to GTAC in Parkville.  The focus of the excursion was on designing prosthetics in robotics and was funded by the Victorian High-Ability Program (VHAP).

In pairs students were given a case study to design a dynamic prosthetic for. They looked at designs in nature (eg. different animals) for inspiration. They then learnt some basic robotic designs. A few of the photos are showing students moving the robotic arm that they built using sensors on their muscles.
