On the 11th November we went to Barkley Gardens and joined the RSL and City of Yarra Council in the Remembrance Day Service. We stood guard while influential members of the community gave speeches and a minute of silence. Among those people were the RSL President Gareth Ward, Reason Party leader Fiona Patten, current Mayor of Yarra Sophie Wade and Greens Party leader Adam Bandt. While some morning tea was being served we got to have some interesting conversations with these extraordinary people. It was so insightful to see these traditions being practiced and the perspectives that everyone brings to the event.
