Religious Education Update

Hannah Birchall | Religious Education Coordinator

What an amazing end to a busy term! Have a look at what students at St Aidan’s have been involved in over the past fortnight…

YEAR 6 RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEST

I am very pleased to announce that St Aidan’s has received the results from the Year 6 Religious Education Test. Every student should be incredibly proud of their efforts and our results are outstanding.

A special congratulations to the following students for their results. Leora F received a High Distinction. Austin D, Tara P, Olivia P, Sienna T and Lucy M all received a Distinction. Thank you to all the students for their amazing efforts in the preparation for this assessment.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN THE CLASSROOM

Students in Year One have been learning about the story of the birth of Jesus.

Jack H and Sophia R recalled the story by creating the baby Jesus in a manger.

GRADUATION MASS

Last Friday, the entire school community gathered for the Year Six Graduation. It was a beautiful ceremony filled with love and celebration.

A special thank you to Diana and all the parents from Year 5 who helped organise the delicious morning tea.

ADVENT LITURGY

On Friday 2 December, we held a small Advent liturgy to commemorate the start of the new liturgical season. Thank you to the students who helped with reading, singing and liturgical movements. A special thank you to all the parents and families who joined us for the afternoon.

HOLY FAMILY CHRISTMAS MASS

Holy Family Parish would like to extend a welcome to all St Aidan’s families for the Christmas Mass on Saturday 24 December at 5:30 pm. The parish is looking for volunteers for this Mass. If you or your family are interested, please complete the online form Family Christmas Mass Volunteering Sat 24th Dec 5.30pm.

If your child will be making their First Holy Communion, First Reconciliation and/or Confirmation next year, please register as soon as possible. The Holy Family parish is responsible for the sacraments and all students must be registered to participate in the program.

In the Holy Family parish, students in Year 3 make their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion and students in Year 6 complete the Sacrament of Confirmation.

It has been a magical year at St Aidan’s and I wish your family a safe, happy and holy break. Thank you to all the parents and families who have generously donated their time and effort in all the Chrsitian outreach initiatives for this year. Thank you to Father Allan and Father Rafael for their support of the St Aidan’s students and all our initiatives.

I look forward to working with you all in 2023.
