Principal's Message

Rachel Baker | Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

As the school year comes to a close it is time to reflect on the year that has passed. St Aidan's has had a huge amount of successes this year, from great sporting and dance achievements to incredible results in NAPLAN, the Premier's Reading Challenge and the Maths Olympiad. This year saw the School Choir continue and the start of our Showgroup and Chess Club. After two interrupted years due to the pandemic the school was once again able to open its doors and classrooms to the families and friends of the school. Family Parish Masses each term were a celebration, Book Week was a huge amount of fun for all, open classrooms, class prayers and class showcases were held and the Newman Symposium was a big success.

I am so proud of the students at St Aidan's for all their efforts this year. Students who reached for their learning goals, supported their fellow students and gave their school life their very best.

I am equally proud of and thankful for the staff of St Aidan's for encouraging and developing the students' love of learning and for also working towards their own professional development so that they can continue to support our students here at St Aidan's.

I am also thankful for Robyn Green and the rest of the leadership team for their constant support and commitment throughout the past year.

I would also like to acknowledge and thank Fr Allan and Fr Rafael whose guidance, support and enthusiasm have been a blessing to the entire St Aidan's community.

At the end of my first twelve months as Principal here at St Aidan's I would like to thank the entire community for the warm welcome. It has been an incredible year with many achievements and I have felt truly blessed to be a part of such a caring and kind community. I am looking forward to an exciting year ahead at St Aidan's in 2023.

YEAR 6 GRADUATION

On Friday 9 December we said farewell to the 2022 Year 6 class. The school gathered as a whole for a beautiful celebration in the Holy Family Church for a Graduation Mass which was followed by a lovely morning tea in the Parish Hall for the students and their families. The day was bittersweet as the school said congratulations and goodbye but it was also filled with the excitement of the students starting their next chapter in their school journey. I am incredibly proud of the 2022 Year 6 class, their enthusiasm, respectfulness and leadership has been outstanding and to get to know this class this year has been an absolute pleasure.

The end of 2022 signifies the end of our Year 6’s Primary school days. For some families, it also signifies the end of a significant number of years that they have been associated with the St. Aidan’s community. We thank these families in particular for everything they have contributed to the St Aidan’s community and wish them every success in the future. I feel extremely privileged to have started here this year as Principal and having the time to get to know these amazing young students and their families during their last year at St Aidan’s. I wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.

Wishing all families blessings and a truly special Christmas and a wonderful holiday break.

Kind regards,

Rachel Baker

Principal
