Year F/1

Week 10

This week we welcomed Miss Gray to meet her new class for 2023 for our third kinder to school transition session. Next Tuesday, our new students will be back for a full day on Tuesday 13th December. Miss Gray will be taking the class for the whole day.

During this session, we focused on practising our listening skills and taking it in turns to share. The kinder students matched words in a little sentence, 'I am at school' and drew a picture of themselves at school. We practised saying the sounds 's, t, a' and writing these on a whiteboard. We also made Christmas baubles. After recess, we read the story

'The Little Red Hen', which has a great message about helping others. We counted to 100 and the teachers were very impressed with the kinder students counting.  Using the story as a prompt, the students created a chicken and practised writing numbers and counting the eggs.

After music class on Tuesday the F/1 children begged Mrs Huf to let them put up the Christmas tree.  Looks fantastic, well done. We are all getting very excited about Christmas!

The children welcomed back Mr Hill to school on Monday.  The students were very happy to see him.
