VM Games Day

Year 11 (VM) students ran a successful Health incursion this week as part of their Unit 1 Outcome 2 assessment. To achieve this, VM students needed to plan and implement a group activity to improve health and wellbeing, and evaluate the effectiveness of the activity by using learnt tools and techniques for monitoring progress. The VM students organised a 50 minute Health and Personal Development lesson, targeted to year 7 students, in order to teach them about the five dimensions of health and wellbeing. Activities included:

  • Physical health and wellbeing: push-up competition
  • Emotional health and wellbeing: circle time to share three things that make them happy
  • Mental health and wellbeing: a mindfulness meditation
  • Social health and wellbeing: undertaking a blindfolded maze, focusing communication skills
  • Spiritual health and wellbeing: selecting their top five values

Well done to all involved.
