Physical education 

What an incredible Term of Physical Education we have had at Warrnambool East. Over the last 9 weeks, we have had our 5/6 students compete in the District Winter Sports (Soccer, Teeball, Football and Netball). With each demonstrating impeccable sportspersonship, persistence and skill. During this term, we have also showcased some outstanding cross country running. Starting with our amazing House Cross Country Day, which each and every student should be extremely proud of. We were then so lucky to have 34 students head off and represent our school at the Division Cross Country Day. From that, we had five students progress onto the Regional Cross Country Day. Well done to Chayce Grinter, Lenny Jansz, Miranda Jansz and Elfie Bourger-Hughson who showed exceptional stamina and grit to compete against the best in our region. Good luck to Lenny, Miranda and Elfie who are representing WEPS at the State Championships in the first week of Term 3. 

Over the last two weeks, our girls have taken centre stage competing in the Division soccer day, and our football team who made it all the way to the Regional finals in Ballarat.

Our girls' football team made it all the way to the Regional Championships. The girls showed excellent determination and skill in very challenging conditions. Many thanks to the parents who came along to support the children on this day. A massive thank you to Taliah who came along and supported the students. Congratulations to the following girls who player in the team:  Elfie Bourger-Hughson, Hannah Austin, Keira Austin, Lacey Barclay, Dekohda Baxter, Catherine Godfrey, Silke Leitch, Madeline Lucas, Ariana Mccoll, Marlee Nevill, Nova Pilkington, Lily Cheeseman, Ivy Hose, Litia Kauyaca, Bella Macgregor, Lexie Mckenzie and Tamara Rodda.

The girls’ soccer team played off against St Patricks Port Fairy for a spot in the Regional finals. Showcasing excellent skills, the girls unfortunately lost the game 3-2 on penalties after a tense extra time. Congratulations to the following girls who played in the team: Leah Boote, Elfie Bourger-Hughson, Ivy Hose, Catherine Godfrey, Addison O’Connor, Lexie Mckenzie, Lily Cheeseman, Arianna Mccoll and Bella Macgregor.
