** ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE THEIR BUCKET HAT FOR PLAY – we follow a strict 'No Hat, No Play Policy' to keep our students sun safe.
7:30am – 8:25am Lower LRC (please note extended hours)
8:00am – 8:25am Playground
The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is open from 7:30am if students arrive before 8:00am. Please do not drop your son/daughter off at school prior to 7:30am, as there is no staff member on duty.
If arriving before 8:25am, students are permitted to drop their bags outside classrooms, put their hats on and go to the playground or Lower LRC area. A bell will ring, which signifies the beginning of the school day at 8:25am and students should line up outside their classroom to wait for their teacher. The playground areas are available for play between 8:00am and 8:25am; however, no ball games are permitted on Leopard Terrace due to students, staff and families walking through this area to the classrooms. In these cooler months, the Lower LRC will remain open until 8:25am, for any student who prefers to stay inside.
The Pre-Prep classroom door opens at 8.30am daily. A parent or caregiver must wait with their Pre-Prep student until such time.
We welcome Mrs Katrina Ash to our wonderful Pre-Prep team with Mrs Sullivan, Mrs Parianos and Mrs Madders. Mrs Ash will be working on Wednesdays for the remainder of the semester.
Mrs Lisa Napier will be joining the Library Department and working in the Lower Learning Resource Centre until Ms Katie Harris returns from Maternity Leave in 2024. Mrs Napier has previously worked in several school libraries, and we are thrilled to have her knowledge in this space. I would like to thank Mrs Ash for filling the gap between Ms Harris leaving and Mrs Napier beginning at the College. Mrs Ash’s teaching expertise was truly appreciated, especially in Homework Club each afternoon.
Congratulations to Ms Katie Harris and her family, on the safe arrival of their son, Jack Hamilton, born on 13 June.
After many years, the staff are so happy to be hosting Grandparents’ Day once more. Our grandparents will be enjoying a morning tea, classroom visit and a special musical performance. Due to numbers, this event is specifically for our wonderful grandparents; however, if a grandparent is unable to attend, a special friend is more than welcome.
Please see the invitation below with the link to book (for catering purposes, please make sure you tick the box for Pre-Prep or Prep to Year 6). We look forward to seeing you there!
The Clubs Program will begin in Week 2 of Term 3 and information in relation to this will be distributed via the App at the beginning of the term. Clubs are optional, at no cost to families, and the offerings change each term.
Homework Club is available to students from Year 3 onwards in the Lower LRC on Monday to Thursday from 3:15pm – 5:00pm. In order to attend, Primary School students must be registered via email to studentservices@clayfield.qld.edu.au. Further, Primary School students must be signed out by a parent or caregiver from the Lower LRC. Students are not permitted to leave the Lower LRC unattended by a parent or caregiver unless they are moving to a co-curricular activity and parents have given written permission for their child to walk to this activity on their own. Parents and caregivers must inform Student Services of this activity when registering their child.
Homework Club closes promptly at 5:00pm, and students will be walked to After Hours Care located next to the Prep/Pre-Prep classrooms after that time. There will be a charge to use this facility.
Thank you very much for your assistance with these processes.
