We hope you enjoy reading some speeches that were written by our Year 5 and 6 students and presented at assembly last week.
Tee Ball
On Friday we went to Newport Baseball Club to play Tee-Ball for gala day. We were all super hyped and then we all got split into two teams. There was Boys Mixed A and the second team was Boys Mixed B. The Mixed A team won two of our games; they were both against Footscray City. Then we lost two games against Yarraville West and then St Leo’s. The Mixed B team also won two of their four games. We all grew skills over time and learnt from each game. Like our first game we didn't have very good fielding and in the last game we did really well with our fielding.
Overall we had a very fun day and can’t wait for Summer Gala Day.
Spencer P, Ollie R and Milla N
Netball
Last Friday students from our school competed at the 5/6 Netball Gala Day. We would like to thank all the teachers and parents that contributed to the day. Without them it wouldn't be possible. Everyone had fun and the day was declared a success. We would also like to thank all the students for their respect to the staff and venues. We would also like to give a special shout out to Janine for her awesome coaching. Congratulations the Wembley Waves for making it to the next round. We can’t wait to see how we go.

Last Friday people in soccer for 5 ⁄ 6 sport competed in a gala day at McIvor Reserve and Yarraville Glory. Everyone tried their hardest and that's what counts. Fortunately all the teams made it except for the A team, they tried their very hardest but just couldn't make it.
We want to say thank you to Mr Zammit for coaching us on the day and helping us do our best. We also wan to say thank you to Jonathan and Chris for coaching the other teams.

The girl's team team was really persistent and did not give up even though we were playing against boys all day. We tried our best and pushed through and we got through to districts by default because we were the only girls team in our district. We had so much fun and we want to thank Chris for being our amazing coach and supporting us all the way. Well done to everyone in the girls team!!

AFL 9s
Last Friday, the AFL 9s Girls team walked to Spotswood football club to play against other schools to try get through to the next round. We got there and found out that there was only one other girls team, so we played against Yarraville West three times in a row. It was a hard fight in every game, but luckily we won all 3 games and we are going to the next round! Once we had finished all our games, everyone came and sat down. The people running it were nice enough to give MVP’s prizes to two of our players - well done to Zoe P and Zali.
Everyone tried their hardest and we all had fun. Well done to all the girls in our team!
