Turning Bread Bags into new Sports Equipment!

Wonder Recycling Rewards is a program we’ve joined to collect and recycle bread bags at school! The more bread bags we collect, the more sports equipment we earn. We are collecting bread bags throughout the whole of Term 2. This is a great way to redirect some of your soft plastics out of the waste stream and into recycling. Please drop off your bread bags, free of crumbs, to the box at the front office.

We’re the Sustainability Captains, Lola and Matilda!  Today we are talking about the new subpod in school! 

A couple of Fridays ago, you may have seen us with a shopping trolley hauling around some boxes. Since then, we have started assembling and forming the subpod! But you may be wondering what a subpod is? A subpod is an in-ground compost system and a worm farm. How it works is the worms will eat our food scraps and paper! It's great for the environment. Subpods reduce waste, rebuild soil, and can act as a fertilizer for our gardens! We can’t wait to see the subpod in use.  We thank the parents and carers for filling in the survey  so we can have this amazing subpod!
