Winter Appeal

Edmund Rice Society showcasing goods for the Winter Appeal

A big thank you to our College Community – with your help and support, we have once again filled the College foyer with boxfuls of donations for those in need. Kudos must go to the Year 9 Collectors for going around to Homerooms each morning, and the Edmund Rice Society, who have spent countless hours sorting and packing goods for the Appeal. All donations will be delivered to the St Vincent De Paul Collection Centre, Woy Woy; and Jesuit Refugee Services, Parramatta next week.

Bunnings BBQ

Last Saturday, 10 June, a group of students from Years 10 and 11 lent a helping hand to a Bunnings BBQ run by Our Lady of Dolours Parish. Students honed their skills behind the grill, working together with local parishioners in what was an enjoyable activity for all. We are looking forward to getting involved with our next Bunnings BBQ on July 1, with all proceeds going to Streetwork, and Willoughby-based organisation that caters to the needs of vulnerable and at-risk youth.

BeConnected Program

The Term 2 BeConnected Program, which has seen SPX Students partnering with Mercy College to assist Seniors with digital devices, had its final session yesterday afternoon. The program has been running for the last six weeks, with our students mentoring library members through various technological issues on a one-on-one basis. Particular thanks must also go to Mr Joseph Lai and Mrs Jennifer Walsh for their guidance and supervision during this time. Congratulations to all involved this term!
