News from Year 6

Well ... we have made it to the end of Semester 1 - halfway through year 6 now! I know the children (and teachers) are looking forward to the holidays to spend time with their families relaxing. We wish you all a safe and happy holiday and look forward to hearing the children's stories when they return.

Over the past three weeks, Madison Vanette has been teaching the grade 6 class as part of her teaching studies at ACU. Among other things, Miss Vanette has taught writing, assisting the students to plan, draft and publish a creative story and Inquiry, where she  led the children through the research process to create an informative poster about a severe weather event or natural disaster.

Thank you  Miss Vanette for coming to teach at St Joseph's and we wish you the best as a future teacher!

On Tuesday, eight Year 6 girls represented St Joseph's in the District Netball against Yarra Junction Primary. Unfortunately, the girls didn't bring home a win, but they should be super proud of the effort they put in and the sportsmanship they showed. Congratulations Amber, Evie, Jade, Milla, Reegan, Ruby S, Ruby W and Sophie! You represented our school fantastically!

Thank you to all the parents who attended the meetings on Wednesday. It was wonderful to talk with you all about your children and the progress they have made so far this year. If you were unable to make the meetings and would like to catch up, please send us an email to let us know and we will arrange a time early next term.

Have a wonderful holidays!
