Council Update

As we reach the end of term three, on behalf of School Council, I'd like to thank Debby, Peter, Deb and the whole BSC team for guiding us and the students through this extraordinary term. Although we had already experienced this challenge earlier in the year, the teaching team has done a wonderful job in seamlessly reverting to online learning, supported incredibly well by everyone else at the school and our parent community.

You will shortly receive your fees information pack for next year (if you haven't already), and I'm delighted to say that we have been able to reduce the overall costs to families across the existing Years 7-9 in 2021, and keep them as low as possible for the first Year 10s. As a School Council, we are very much aware of the financial difficulties faced by many families, and so BSC has looked at every possible way to reduce fees to keep our education affordable for everyone. We will continue to do all we can to keep your contributions as low as possible, while providing an innovative world-class curriculum for all our students. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, please contact the school directly, as there are many ways BSC can support you, such as payment plans, especially at this difficult time.

The Stage 2 expansion of BSC is continuing at a good pace, with the architects, Clarke Hopkins Clarke, who did such a wonderful job with the initial build. School Council member, Annalise Pearce, has been working closely with the architects, the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA), Debby, and other members of our teaching team, to ensure the expansion of the school fits the needs of BSC moving forwards, while also balancing the environmental impact and the aesthetic standards that Beauie and the local community deserve. We hope to be able to share some design images with you of the exciting expansion to our school in the near future.

Once again, on behalf of School Council, I'd like to wish you all a safe and happy holiday period, and let's hope we can welcome our students back at school at some point in term four, well before the Christmas break.

Kind Regards, Steve

Steve Pearce, School Council President
