Year 8 Create Visual Term 3

Throughout Term 3 of remote learning our year 8 students have been working really hard to create some amazing appropriations dedicated to Australian artists. They have developed their own art making practices and applied a range of techniques, drawing connections to contemporary artists and art practices. ‘I really enjoyed the CV PBL, as it was creative, funny and interesting. We each researched an artist or sculptor to find out some facts about them. We then looked at some of their artworks and chose our favourite to recreate, using items available to us at home. I learned a lot about my researched sculptor and some of the deeper meaning behind his artwork which I brought up with my family, leading to a long discussion about the artists beliefs.

Overall I had a lot of fun recreating this artwork and getting creative with everyday items at home. I learned a lot about this artist that I won’t forget, and had my ideas and beliefs and challenges.’- Jacob D
