Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge

On Thursday, September 10, eleven students from Beaumaris Secondary College completed Round Two of the Bebras Australian Computational Thinking Challenge. The goal of the Bebras Challenge is to promote computational thinking skills in a way that highlights student abilities and engage students from Years 3-12 in collaborative, creative, and critical thinking.

One of the participants reflected on their experience: On the 10th of September, I did the Bebras Challenge. It was super fun, and I am glad I signed up for it. The challenge interested me because it seemed like a good challenge. It was a very fun experience and I highly recommend giving it a try next time you have a chance!

Computational thinking involves using a set of problem-solving skills and techniques that software engineers use to write programs and apps. The Bebras Challenge promotes problem-solving skills and informatics concepts, including the ability to break down complex tasks into simpler components, algorithm design, pattern recognition, pattern generalisation and abstraction. If any of these areas are of interest to you, we welcome you to join the team next year!
