Science

On September 8 our Year 9 and 10 students participated in a Forensics workshop called A Case of Identity.

Students were given the opportunity to solve a make believe crime. This case explored the importance of cyber safety with social networks, the dangers of drink spiking and the consequences of taking risks.

"Who did Sally meet at the beach and how did she die" was the question our students needed to answer. A 17 year old school girl was found lying dead on the ground in a disused military bunker. The girl's parents had reported her missing four days prior when she failed to return home from school. There were signs of a struggle and a substantial wound to the head appeared to be the cause of death. Students examined the crime scene and analysed the evidence including entomology, trace evidence, fingerprints, toxicology and much more.

Thanks to Education Interactive for the excellent presentation on the day.

Our Year 11 students are currently completing exams at this time. We wish them well.

We would like to wish the Year 12 cohort all the best as they come to the end of their formal schooling and prepare for their HSC exams.
