SCORPION SOCCER

Over the last few weeks Mr Hoskin and Liam Addlington have been running the most anticipated tournament of the year, Scorpion Soccer. This is a lunchtime soccer competition for the Year 7s and Year 8s running on Wednesday and Thursday lunchtimes on the multi courts.

The initial competition was a ‘rock up’ format, which saw over 70 students turning up to get involved and play some soccer. Students were grouped into teams and played social games with a competitive edge.

After this amazing turn out the competition moved into a knockout phase where students got together into teams of five to play for the title of Scorpion Soccer Champions. This hugely popular competition has seen students of all ability levels get involved and enjoy playing against their peers.

The Scorpion Soccer final is on next Thursday lunchtime on the multi courts featuring Hontzogloy v Team Delfin. May the best team win!

Thank you to all of the staff and students who got involved with this fabulous competition.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Carole Hooper who has been awarded the School Sports Victoria Award for 20 Years of Service. For over 20 years Carole has been providing opportunities for students to participate and compete in sporting events through a variety of roles. Her journey began in 1982 at Shepparton South Technical College as Sports Coordinator in the Victorian Secondary Schools' Sports Association, she continued this role at Ballam Park Technical College before moving to McKinnon in 2004 and taking on the role of Junior Sports Coordinator. In 2011 she became the Kingston Division Coordinator.

All of these roles have seen Carole providing opportunities for students to access sporting success from school through to state level. It is a huge achievement and Carole is a worthy recipient of the SSV Service Award for her dedication to providing opportunities for our students.

Well done Carole!
