Focus on Learning

Kindergarten

The highlights of Term 3 have been the improvement across all aspects of English and Mathematics and the continued development of their social skills. We were so fortunate to have been able to share part of our term with a student teacher and engage in many varied activities to help our learning, leading Kindergarten students to demonstrate continual progress in independent learning.

Year 1-2

Term 3 saw year 1 and 2 develop into sophisticated mathematicians. One of our highlights this term is the engagement our students have made within their mathematical learning. The confidence each child demonstrates daily is AMAZING, their ability to discuss, explain, practice, and apply new skills in mathematics is continually developing.  

Year 3-4

This term a highlight for our class has been our amazing work in Geography. Our topic for this semester is Australia and Its Neighbours. 

The students have really embraced learning all about our wonderful country and our neighbouring countries and have made an informative powerpoint presentation on Indonesia. They have created some stunning artwork depicting the traditional Batik wax resist painting and a poster on a neighbouring country. The children have worked really hard this semester which is demonstrated in their work.

Year 5/6

The highlight in 5/6 this term has been the positive development of the students' self-regulation skills. Over the year, the students have been developing their ability to self assess their work using a three-tiered assessment tool: Mastered, Tackled, and Misunderstood... 

The students' maturity to use this tool accurately has led to their continual learning achievement throughout all learning areas. They use this tool to plot themselves where they feel they are within their understanding and application towards particular learning tasks. It has been fantastic to see such positive, critical and honest feedback from the students towards their learning. Stage 3 have taken ownership over their learning... What a HUGE success!

Administration Highlights:  We have noticed so many of our wonderful students taking the time to use their best manners, have a meaningful conversation and to listen to the responses.  We love having conversations with the children as we interact with them on a daily basis.  Well done everyone.
