House Football Extended into Week 9

Due to the wet weather experienced earlier in the term the K-6 House Football Tournament will be extended into Week 9 on Monday and Wednesday. This will see the conclusion of the Tournament and the end of Junior Sport for Term 3 (except for U11-U13 Cricket – see below).

The Football Tournament has proven to be very popular with the students and a great deal of enjoyment has been had by many. We have been especially pleased with the great effort and enthusiasm from our K-2 students who have shown great potential on the field. One of the other great benefits of this initiative has been the opportunity for students to try something new. We have certainly discovered some great football talent amongst the senior girls, many of whom had never played before.

Congratulations to everyone and a special thanks to Mrs Sharpe and the Junior Staff for their encouragement and organisation of the students.

Cricket Training during Week 10

For students who selected cricket in the U11, U12 and U13 age groups we will be holding training sessions at Sally Kennett Field and in the nets on Monday and Wednesday afternoon of Week 10 from 3.20pm till 4.30pm. All players must provide their own kit including a bag, pads, helmet and gloves. A note outlining teams and registration information will be emailed home this week.

Term 4 Sport Choices

Thank you for your responses to the survey sent out over Week 7. Information regarding activities and requirements will be forwarded to parents in the coming week.

We are looking forward to an 8-week program being delivered on Monday and Wednesday afternoons during Term 4.

Year 2 Swimming Term 4

Year 2 will need to organised themselves a swimming costume for sport over the next few weeks. We are hoping that students can wear their costume to school under their PE uniform and tracksuit as large-scale change rooms are not permitted. Girls might like to consider a two-piece costume in navy blue. We understand that a School uniform swimming costume may not be appropriate and will allow alternative costumes for the purposes of our swimming program in Term 4. Change rooms on a large scale are not permitted but an alternative option and toileting will be available prior to entering the pool.

Netball Success

Challenge Implements Lightning U12 Netball team, made entirely of Year 6 students from KWS, won their semi-final 57-15 and are straight through to the Grand Final. The girls have done an amazing job, and Ann O’Neill as Manager and Michelle Stacpoole as coach couldn’t be prouder of their dedication, determination and growth as a team during the season. The girls are a credit to the KWS community. Congratulations to the following girls and best of luck in the final.Molly Mason (Captain), Lucinda Nash (Vice-Captain), Alice Scholte, Olive Quigley, Olive Glover, Freya Stacpoole, Olivia Watts, Ava Healy, Julia Bligh, Ally Luxford.

Fantastic Football from Year 3

It has been wonderful to hear of the sports our students have involved themselves in locally during these difficult times for School Sport.

We have received many compliments from parents and the community about the KWS students this year. The Year 3’ have had a sensational soccer season. They have been so committed, training once a week in addition to their school sport commitments and have displayed fantastic sportsmanship and teamwork since week 1, plus enjoying quite a few wins. They have also made a few new mates out at Cudal which let them register the Cudal Kinross team as they are known on the draw. The kids have been a credit to the School and are to be congratulated on their performance.
