Week 3 Term 1 2022
Dear Parents and Carers
Parent/Teacher/Students Conferences
Thank you to all the parents who made a time to meet with their child's teacher online last evening. I trust they were beneficial for both parent and teacher. The sharing of information is an important aspect of "working together" to benefit students learning. If you were unable to make a time I ask that you contact your child's teacher to do so. If you ever wish to talk to your child's teacher please email them to organise a time.
Funeral
I have been informed by the parish that there will be funeral on Friday at 9.15am. This might affect parking on Severn St. If possible, enter the school via Marwal Avenue or the side gate next to the church/oval. It is likely there will be a hearse in the driveway from 8.30am.
Leaders
On Friday our School Leaders and all our Yr 6 students were presented with their badges by Mrs Boyhan, Miss Schroder and Fr John. The students were very excited to receive their badges. All Yr. 6's wear their badges with pride daily.
Smoking Ceremony
Following mass on Friday the school gathered (outside) to listen to and watch Uncle Ian perform our annual smoking ceremony. Our Fire Carrier leaders spoke beautifully before introducing Uncle Ian who performed the ceremony. Uncle Ian is an inspirational speaker who thoroughly engaged the students in story and song.
COVID 19 Update
This week there was 1 new reported case ( today) of COVID 19 in our school. Thank you to all the families who are undertaking the regular RAT testing. It benefits our whole community.
Earlier this afternoon we were informed that Rapid Antigen testing will continue for the remainer of the term. Once we receive the next delivery of RATS I will let our community know to collect them from the office.
In the coming weeks all staff in schools will be required to have received their booster. You might have seen news reports stating that by March 15th all parents who wish to attend school events or enter the school buildings will also need to have received their booster. I will provide further information once I receive it.
From 6 pm on Friday 18 February, QR code check-in requirements will no longer be in place in schools.
Medical
It is important that we are aware of children who have particular medical conditions. These include Anaphylaxis, Asthma and Diabetes. If your child does have a medical condition please notify the school immediately if you have not already done so. The office is required to have up-to-date medical plans.
Have a great week
Brian
