Middle School Music Night

On Friday night, 19 May, the Music Department welcomed friends and family to the Middle School Music Night. This Concert was the first of three major Trinity concerts in Term 2. The audience was treated to a wide range of performances from the combined forces of the Trinity and Mercedes Music department, including instrumental and choral pieces. Congratulations to all students involved, whose performances demonstrated their passion and dedication towards their art form.

A special thanks go to the Performing Arts Staff, FOPA and the amazing parents for all their support and commitment to the Performing Arts.

Pipes and Drums Soiree

The Pipes and Drums Team were excited to host their first Music Day on Saturday, 20 May. This event was attended by our talented pipers and drummers, along with their supportive families and dedicated tutors. Parents were treated to a showcase of what the students have been learning this year, as well as an insight to what the Band Life is all about.

Congratulations on a very successful event and thank you to the Music Tutors, FOPA and parents for all their support and commitment to the Performing Arts.

Friends of Performing Arts

Next Meeting

All parents are invited to come along and express their interest in supporting the college's music, dance and drama activities this year. In addition, we are always keen to welcome new parents on board to help behind the scenes of the Performing Arts program.

The next FOPA meeting is Wednesday, 7 June, at 7.00 pm in the Staff Lounge, 3rd Floor of the Cultural Centre. We look forward to seeing you there.

Volunteers Required

The RSPCA Million Paws Walk is returning for 2023. As in previous years, the Friends of Performing Arts have been asked to provide volunteers for car parking marshalling duties and gold coin donation collections. This is another excellent fundraising activity, with the RSPCA donating 50% of all donations to the Friends of Performing Arts.

The event is on Sunday, 28 May at Sir James Mitchell Park in South Perth.

Friends of Performing Arts have been asked to provide 20 volunteers across two sessions (40 in total). The first session is 6.30am to 11.00am. The second session is 11.00am to 3.00pm.

Triathlon Co-Ordinator

The primary duty of this role is to arrange volunteers to assist with triathlon events and other one-off events, such as the RSPCA Million Paws Walk. This role will suit a candidate with excellent communication skills, who is proactive, and who has a can-do attitude.

They will need to communicate with the event organisers (phone/email) to determine the number of volunteers required for each event and, after that, actively acquire volunteers by preparing email communications to parents/caregivers. Familiarity with using Facebook and applications such as Signup Genius as tools to assist with this role would be beneficial but optional.

On the day of the event, the candidate will be required to undertake a roll call to confirm the number of volunteers who have attended and then liaise with the event-co-ordinator after the event to ensure that the donation has been paid to the college.

A complete handover will be given to the incoming candidate from the exiting candidate.

FOPA POSITION AVAILABLE

We ask that all candidates attend a FOPA meeting to express their interest in the position.
