JOSIE SERVELLO
Hello St. Fidelis families, the P&F hopes that you all had a wonderful weekend celebrating Mother’s Day with your loved ones. We had a wonderful time celebrating with the women of St. Fidelis Parish at our Friday morning event and are grateful for the stunning weather that Melbourne turned on for us this weekend. Please read ahead for all your need-to-know P&F information.
Vinnie’s Winter Appeal Drive – Monday 15th May to Friday 9th June
P&F Meeting – Monday 5th June, 7 pm in St. Fidelis staffroom
Lunch Order Day – Friday 9th June
Uniform Stall – Friday 16th June
What a wonderful week St. Fidelis has just had celebrating the amazing women in our St. Fidelis Community! It started with the P&F Mother’s Day Stall, where Rose Piotti and her team of Mums gave up their time to organise this fundraising event. As mentioned before, this stall is one of the events that the P&F look forward to the most. Each child spent their time excitedly choosing the best gift for the special women in their life. This event is always such a joy to run and we want to extend our thanks to all the parents and staff that assisted in making it so successful.
We then celebrated the Mums & Grandmas of St. Fidelis at our Friday morning breakfast celebration. Here, the wonderful VILLAGE BAKERY (Anastasia & Damian Spyrou) supplied the most delicious produce in beautifully packed breakfast boxes. Thank you to the VILLAGE BAKERY for your continued support of our school community and for all the time, effort and love you put into making these days extra special.
Thank you to the staff and students of St. Fidelis who then organised a special Mother’s Day Assembly and classroom activities. The morning was truly a celebration of all the wonderful parts of motherhood and more importantly, brought the school community together in such a positive way.
Thank you to the Dads – Frank, James and Johnny who took time out of their morning to assist with the set-up and distribution of the breakfast boxes. It allowed the P&F Mum’s time for an extra cuppa 😊
P&F members – I thank you mostly for all of your volunteer time and hard work that each and every one of you put into our yearly events. I have said this before, and I will say it again – St. Fidelis is VERY BLESSED to have such a wonderful, loving and supportive group of parents as its backbone.
In the next newsletter, the funds raised from our Mother’s Day Stall and Event will be posted. Thank you.
“The Society of St Vincent de Paul is an international voluntary organisation in the Catholic Church, founded in 1833 for the sanctification of its members by personal service of the poor… the Vinnie’s winter appeal aims to provide emergency relief to people at risk and experiencing homelessness,” (wikipedia.org).
As Catholic people, we aim to follow in the footsteps of such saints as ‘St. Vincent De Paul’ who was canonised by the catholic church for preaching missions to the peasantry and for running charitable events to assist the poor.
This year, over a 4-week period, we ask for your assistance in the collection of various items that will be donated to assist the homeless and those less fortunate than we are. Each grade level from Foundation to grade 6 will be asked to donate from a list of required items, which the P&F team (led by Josie Perri) will sort and organise for delivery to the St. Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal. You will receive a flyer with all the necessary information shortly, and we thank you in advance for your generosity with this not-for-profit appeal.
On Friday 9th June, the P&F has organised the last lunch order day for Term 2. The VILLAGE BAKERY is providing us with delicious sausage rolls (for $5), vegetable pasties (for $5) and cinnamon donuts (for $3). You will be informed once orders open on QuickCliq so that you can pre-order your child’s lunch. Keep your eyes and ears open for more information to follow. Thank you.
Adriana B and Gabby S are leading the P&F uniform stall, set for Friday 16th June. As usual, the stall will run from 3pm and we invite you to come and purchase good quality preloved school uniforms at affordable prices. Don’t forget to bring a carry bag and money.
Thank you to all the families who continue to donate their children’s uniforms. Please, everyone, keep the donations coming. We simply ask that the uniforms you provide us with are good quality, have the school emblem, and are free from stains, tears, rips, etc. Also, no SOCKS or JOCKS. Many thanks for your support.
THANK YOU for taking the time to stay updated with the P & F NEWS!
Our next meeting is Monday June 5 @7pm in the St. Fidelis staffroom. You are welcome to join us.
