Education in Faith

Education in Faith encompasses the following areas: Religious Education, Prayer, Liturgy and Sacraments.

Over and over again we see that family bonds are essential for the stability of relationships in society, for the work of education, and for integral human development, for they are inspired by love, responsible intergenerational solidarity, and mutual trust. These are factors that can make even the most adverse situations more bearable and bring a spirit of trust fraternity to our world, enabling it to feel as a single family, where the greatest attention is paid to those most in need.”

Family Week and Whole school mass

Family Week is a perfect time to come together to celebrate the power of family relationships in all their diversities, and the importance they play in our lives and community. This year's theme: Circle of Inclusion

Last Friday Kalma and Rosanne from Catholic Care were invited to St Fidelis to share with us the importance of every family. They discussed the important people who make up our families and what we as a community can do to help families in need.

This week the school community of St Fidelis will have the opportunity to celebrate Family Week. The children will engage in various learning opportunities that reflect the importance of families and will make connections to the Good Samaritan scripture.

This Friday the 19th of May at 9.30 am, we will have the opportunity to celebrate this special occasion by celebrating mass.  We invite all parents and carers to join us.

Eucharist Celebration Workshop

Our Year 4 children will be celebrating the Sacrament of Eucharist on the 18th of June at 11.00 am at St Fidelis church. In preparation for this special celebration, parents/carers and children are invited to attend a Eucharist workshop via Zoom facilitated by Maria Forde.

This workshop allows us to engage with our child/ren and reflect on the importance of the sacrament and how as a family we can continue preparing our child/ren.

The online workshop will take place on Thursday, May 18th at 7.00 pm. All families of children receiving the sacrament of Eucharist must participate in this workshop as throughout the workshop all relevant information concerning the Eucharist celebration will be addressed.  We ask that all families bring along a candle that will be used during the workshop.  All families will receive a link to join the workshop.

School/class Mass:

Last Tuesday 5/6GT and 1/2VK attended mass. Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended this celebration.

St Vinnies' Winter Appeal

The St Vinnies' Winter Appeal provides food and clothing for people who are experiencing difficulty in their lives. Each year as a school community, we come together to donate to this worthy cause.  This year, our Social Justice and Community leaders will engage in collecting, sorting and organising the donated goods to be distributed.  This week, each learning space will receive a basket for donations to be placed.  Your kind donation will assist those in need.

Thank you and God bless,

Annette Gasbarro

Religious Education Leader.
