I CAN NETWORK

Throughout Term 2 a group of Senior Secondary students participated in the I CAN Program ran by the I CAN Network. The aim of the program was to develop inclusive school cultures and to empower students with optimism, belonging, self acceptance, pride and confidence. Throughout each session students would take part in a check in, chill time activity and a group activity. Throughout the term students completed a cup building challenge, egg drop challenge, paper plane building. All these tasks requiring them to work collaboratively with their peers.

BREAKFAST CLUB

At the beginning of Term 2, HVS received a $2,000 School Breakfast Clubs Appliance Grant from Foodbank Victoria. The school used this money to purchase blenders, juicer, sandwich press and toasters for Monty's Cafe to assist with the establishment of Breakfast Club.

Currently Breakfast Club is being ran by Jacqui Chalmers (Mental Health and Wellbeing Leading Teacher) and Jessie Francis (Social Worker) along with some parent volunteers.

Breakfast Club operates on a Monday and Thursday morning where students can access toast, cereal, freshly squeezed juice and toasted sandwiches.
