School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

Term 2 update

Throughout Term 2, students have experienced positive behaviour support, and have achieved wonderful growth through all of this work.

The areas of School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) that students have experienced include:

  • Being taught the values and expectations across the school. Students have opportunities to learn how to be safe, show respect, and be a learner in different areas across the school. Students have opportunities to practice these positive behaviour skills.
  • They are rewarded with Monty Money tokens when they demonstrate the values of our school. They use their Monty Money reward charts for rewards such as extra iPad time, lunch with a friend, extra bike riding time, etc. They redeem their Monty Money tokens for Monty Dollars, which they can use to spend at the Monty Shop.
  • Students are praised and given positive attention from staff when they are safe, are learning, and when they show respect.
  • Learning and play environments are structured and engaging, which helps students engage in positive behaviours and activities.

If anyone has any questions about positive behaviour support and strategies we use at Hamlyn Views School, please feel free to make contact with me.
