Performing Arts

In Term 2, in Performing Arts students have taken part in dramatic play activities.  Across the classes, students have participated in a variety of different dramatic role play activities. Some themes have included 'In the Jungle', Dreamtime stories, such as Tiddalik the Frog and 'Under the Sea'.  In Early Years classes, we have begun to introduce a new sensory story called 'Ali Baba and the 40 thieves'. Working together with our Occupational Therapist, Dave and Music Therapist, Bingyao, students have engaged and explored the Ali Baba story through a range of sensory objects, including optic fibre lights, tactile objects and musical sounds.

Students have had the opportunity to explore wearing animal costumes and props. Students have also had the opportunity to explore taking part in puppet role play activities, interacting with their classmates and their animal characters. Many of our students have really enjoyed interacting with their classmates in a puppet show.

In Semester 2, Hamlyn Views Students will continue to explore Drama in Performing Arts.
