Year 9 Advanced English – Shark Tank Project
Over the last few weeks the Year 9 Advanced English class have been developing their persuasive skills and understanding of how we adapt language to target a specific audience, purpose and context. On Friday 1st May individual and groups presented their Shark Tank Project to a panel of ‘sharks’ including their teacher and KLA Coordinator Miss Hose, Team Leader Miss Cruise and Assistant Principal Mr Parker. The panel members were thoroughly impressed by the innovative ideas, meticulous marketing plans and convincing deliveries of all students. The winning product that the ‘sharks’ chose to invest their $100,000 in was the Teddbear, invented by winning participant Natasha Dinicolantonio, which was designed for physical and emotional comfort for teenagers facing mental health issues. With a detailed, well-thought-out budget and marketing scheme, Teddbear was the product the panel determined could immediately appear on shop shelves and had the potential to become a must-have item for every family household. Congratulations Natasha!
