Physics Excursion to Luna Park

On Friday the 6th of March, the year 12 physics class spent the day at Luna Park. Hoping to score our 15 minutes of fame, we were also filmed by the ClickView camera crew and we are to be featured in an educational video.

After spending half an hour waiting in anticipation, we were finally let in. The first ride we were scheduled on was the Enterprise – something that I apparently found way scarier than everyone else. Mr Kazi encouraged us to think about the forces acting on us while we were on rides, for the Enterprise; the force of gravity, the normal force and, for me, the force of fear for my life. My tummy wouldn’t really allow me to go upside down again, but throughout the day some daring members of the class went on the Pharaoh’s Curse and The Power Surge, the two most intimidating rides there. Much to our disappointment, the iconic Scenic Railway malfunctioned before we could have a turn on it but I guess that’s just Luna Park.

It was an incredibly fun day and a great way to kick off the beginning of year 12. Thank you to the ClickView camera crew for making us feel like movie stars and to our wonderful teacher Mr Kazi for taking us on the best school excursion ever and putting up with us all day.
