Student Achievements

University of Melbourne School Mathematics Competition
This year, Kilvington entered the University of Melbourne Maths Competition after a long break, because Year 9 student, Jimmy Chen, won an Outstanding Award in 2017 ... and, he’s done it again!
The University of Melbourne School Mathematics Competition is of a demanding standard, designed to identify real mathematical talent. The nature of the problems is different from that encountered in school mathematics syllabi, being less mechanical and requiring a higher level of mathematical insight and creativity.
Between 3000 and 5000 students enter, and some 150 are awarded prizes. Jimmy is one of the 23 Outstanding Award winners, which is fantastic.
The Award Ceremony will be held on Saturday 6 October in the Copland Theatre, the Spot Building, Berkeley Street.
Eisteddfod by the Bay
Congratulations to Year 7 student, Freya Watters, who competed in the Eisteddfod by the Bay Competition and received second place in the 12 years and under classical voice section. Well done Freya!
