WEEK EIGHT:

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them” –Matthew 18:20

Dear Parents and Carers,

St Fidelis Christmas Night Market was a wonderful success on Friday Night.  Mother Nature was kind to us and you could not have asked for a better evening, which was filled full of fun, laughter, food and community spirit.  It was amazing to see and feel the spirit of the St Fidelis Community within our school.

It was great to think that past, present and future parents, grandparents and students still have a connection with St Fidelis and put their hand up to support and make this a true parish and school community event. The success of this years Christmas Market is credited to many, however it was our Night Market drivers - Mira Cantiani, Crystal Nappo, Lucy Leahy, Anna Millar, Rose Piotti, Marianne Ciaverella and Danielle Sportelli who were fundamentally behind its success.

Mira and the committee will give you a 'Night Market wrap-up' as soon as they catch their breath in the coming week.  I would personally like to thank each and everyone of you for contributing to this Night Market in any way that you could. All funds raised will go directly back to our school and I will inform you where these will be allocated in the near future.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Congratulations to some of our Year Two students who last weekend received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. Please continue to keep these you students in your prayers. Next weekend the second group of students will receive this sacrament on Saturday. Thank you to Father Michael, Mrs Wenckowski and the classroom teachers for preparing the students for this important time their lives.

Whole School Morning Prayer-Thursday Morning

Whole School Morning Prayer on Thursday morning has become an important part of the St Fidelis culture. Each Thursday we gather as a faith community to listen to the message of God from a scripture passage and to sit in silence to prepare ourselves for the day ahead. Classes take it in turns to lead prayer for the rest of the school community.  Every Thursday morning at 8:45 am you are very welcome to come and spend 10 minutes in prayer and to prepare yourselves for the day also. This week’s prayer will focus on the significance of the message stick and the following four weeks we will spend time reflecting and preparing for advent and Christmas.

Christmas Carols

On Thursday December 5th we will be hosting our Christmas Carols in the school grounds. If the weather is not kind to us we will use our school hall.  The Carols will begin at 6:00pm sharp and conclude at 7:00pm.

If you would like to eat a sausage, buy a drink or muffin there will be an opportunity to do so from 5:00pm onwards. The serving of sausages will stop at 5:45pm sharp, as the students will be required to assemble in preparation for their Christmas item.

All families will need to be seated outside by 5:45pm. Please bring along your blanket, chairs and snacks.  (Strictly No Alcohol).

Looking forward to a lovely relaxed evening. If the weather is not suitable, we will send out an alert via the SkoolBag app. The carols will go ahead but the serving of sausages and drinks will NOT.
