ENGAGEMENT is essential

Athletic Carnival

Next Friday (21 October) we will be holding our Faction Athletics Carnival at the Noranda Sporting Complex Athletics (entry is via Wylde Road). It is a very exciting for the school to hold our carnival on an actual athletics track.

All year levels from Pre- Primary to Year 6 will participate in the carnival which will make for a wonderful community feel. The children will be competing to earn points for their faction and hopefully their faction will win the shield at the end of the day. Due to a tight schedule some events have been run during PE lessons, but each child will have multiple running races and team games to compete in on the day.

These days cannot run without the support of volunteers so if you are available for any part of the day to assist, your help would be greatly appreciated. This can even be helping to set up before the carnival or packing up at the end of the day. I would ask if there is anybody who owns a ute that if they could pick up a number of tents from the school on Thursday afternoon and bring them to the carnival on the Friday morning (please advise me, the office or via the weblink if you are able to assist on the day)  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WNH9BVM

Attached with this newsletter is an overall program for the day. Please be advised that events may change without prior notice and all times are a general guide. We may be running ahead or behind time so please be flexible. This year the race program with children’s names and events will be attached to next week’s newsletter so parents can print their own copy or download it to your phone.

I know everyone is excited about the day and the children have been eagerly practising and are looking forward to competing against their peers and showing off their skills. The day’s focus is fun and participation and all efforts should be acknowledged.
