Google Headquarters
JAR Aerospace-Excursion
30 VET students from Business Services and Information and Digital Technologies had the incredible opportunity to see both the biggest company in the IT industry and a company just entering it when they went to Sydney this week to see Google Headquarters and JAR Aerospace.
Students were given a tour of Google's Education and Cloud Office and Corporate headquarters on Sydney Harbour which is famous for being rated as the number one workplace in the world. Free food, nap pods, game rooms, dog-friendly offices, and amazing collaborative spaces were just some of the things the students got to experience and lots of suggestions came back to school.
At JAR Aerospace, a highly successful startup company that designs and produces drones, students were shown how design and manufacturing of drones take place as well as the fluid work environments typical of startups. They were able to design and market their own business, chat with engineers and business experts and even fly some of their prototypes with more than a few crashes.
It was a fantastic two days that left students informed, inspired and full of new experiences as they prepare to enter the world of work.
