Hi parents and families,
It has been great having the children more heavily involved in our program over the last two weeks. Though last week was a short week, the children still managed to have an input into our weekly program with the theme behind the week being children’s suggestions. One of the highlights of last week was having the children involved in making donuts, which, despite the mess, the children absolutely loved! Regardless of whether the children got involved in the making process, they all got to sample one at the end. Baking and being in the kitchen has been a key interest of the children over the last few terms and we are striving to include them in every possible aspect of meal preparation as possible.
Children are starting to get excited for the Christmas period, as are we! We are starting to collect bits and pieces for art and craft and gift ideas and ask that if you have any scrap materials you can spare, that you please donate them to us.
We are also focusing on creating new and exciting spaces for the children to enjoy, which also includes the displays around the room. Our family trees are being remade and we ask families to bring in or email us a copy of a family photo that you have at home. We want to create a new space where everyone feels like part of the larger community.
On 28th November, school will be finishing at 1.30pm and after school care will run from this time. To book your child in, please do it as you would for a standard after care booking, and we ask that you do this as soon as you possibly can so that we can arrange the appropriate staff. We apologise if this causes any inconvenience.
Just a Few Reminders:
- Children are required to wear hats and sunscreen this term. Please ensure they bring their hats with them to the service to enable outdoor play. The service will, however, provide the children with sunscreen.
