Athletics - NSW Relay Championships Medals

Emerson and Lawson Fittler recently returned from the NSW Relay Championships which were held at the Campbelltown Athletics Track on the 23rd November 2019.  Both athletes were awarded a bronze medal, Lawson in the Medley Relay and Emerson in the U16s 4x400m relay.

 

The 4x400m relay team created history by breaking the Club record for the event by 5 seconds.

The Armidale Athletic Club's U16 men's 4x400m relay team also competed at the Championships and ran an impressive time of 3.51.97, coming home with a bronze medal each in their luggage.

Selection Announcment - Cricket

Clancy McDermott has been selected in the Northern NSW U13s Team who are competing in the State Challenge at Dubbo from 20th-23rd January 2020.  Well done Clancy, we look forward to hearing about the experience when you return.

U18 Boys Indoor Hockey State Representation

O'Connor students continue to dominate in the Indoor Hockey field. The New England U18 Men’s Indoor Team won the State Championships in a hard fought game versus Illawarra,  winning 4-1 in Goulburn. They have now secured the title for an incredible third consecutive year. Congratulations to all players. Team members from OCCC included:  Hayden Schumacher, Tyler McCann, Keiran Wicks, Liam Smith, Jake McCann and Nathan Czinner and Umpire, Aiden Wicks. Congratulations to Jake Mcann who was named ‘Player of the Tournament’.  This week the U18 State teams were announced and we congratulate Nathan Czinner and Jake McCann for being selected in the NSW State team and Liam Smith for his selection in the NSW Blues team.

 

Hayden, Tyler and Jake were also team members of the Open New England team who came 2nd in Div 2. Congratulations to Jake on his selection in the U21 NSW Blues team.

 

In our local competition we have 4 OCCC junior teams participating in the Thursday afternoon competition and have several players in the Senior competition. It is here that we have fostered the love of the game and developed players. "From little things big things grow

… " We are very proud of every players’ participation. Well done.
