Prayer: A Prayer for Fathers

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!  We wish all our Fathers, Grandfathers and Great Grandfathers a Happy Father’s Day on Sunday.

Most gracious Heavenly Father,

We thank you for our fathers, those to whom you have entrusted the responsibility to provide loving protection of their families and guidance of their children. May they look towards St. Joseph as an example of dutifully carrying out their role through the work of their own hands to provide and protect the family complementing the nurturing hand of our good mother Mary.

We pray for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation; may they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice.

We pray for our own fathers around the world whose children are lost or suffering; may they know that the God of compassion walks with them in their sorrow.

We pray for men who are not fathers but still mentor and guide us with fatherly love and advice.

We remember fathers, grandfathers, and great grandfathers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love.

Amen.

ISA Football Grand Finals

Last Saturday we had seven teams playing in the Grand Finals and unfortunately only the 15As won through on the day.

All our teams played tremendously well and I especially commiserate with our champion First XI team who went down in extra time to Oakhill College. I congratulate all of our boys and thank them for their representation of the College.
