Celebrating the Joy of Easter

As a part of our Belonging Inquiry this term, the Reception children are beginning to look at the various communities that they are a part of and how these communities make them feel. Some of the communities that they are reflecting upon include:

  • St Paul Lutheran School
  • Churches
  • St Paul Community
  • Sports Teams and Swimming Lessons
  • Dance and Gymnastic Classes
  • Living in Australia
  • Living on Kaurna Land

In particular, the Reception children love being a part of their St Paul Community as they get to build a relationship with their Senior buddies.

What do you love to do with your St Paul Community?

“I like Kadli because it’s a dingo and I like dingoes” Bethany

“I love doing every bit of Coordination in my Yaltu Community” Jasper

“I like to play with my buddy, Mackenzie” Ivana

“I like that my buddy is in the Kardi community with me” Sasha

Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Being in a loving community helps us in many ways. We have friends to encourage us when we feel down, someone to help when we struggle with a problem, we learn to love as Jesus loved, it helps us stay committed to our Christian faith, and we can also be ourselves. Jesus commanded us to “love one another, just as I have loved you” (John 15:12). By being a part of communities, we can show our love for others as Jesus taught us.
