As We Come to The End of Term 2...
Dear Parents and Carers
It has been a very busy term with lots happening at Salvado Catholic College with our students engaged in various learning experiences from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 8 across the College. Our teachers have also been very busy writing reports in preparation for the end of the term to share with parents/carers. Please take the time to celebrate successes with your children and set goals for Semester 2 after reading the reports over the holidays together.
Congratulations to all the students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time last Thursday in our Parish. Thank you Miss Scullard, Miss Collard and Mrs Pitman for preparing the students for this special Sacrament and thank you to our students and staff who came along as part of the choir in support of this special Sacrament.
Thank you to our students and families for your donations to the Vinnies Winter Appeal and LifeLink last Friday. Our endeavour for social justice and the respect for the human person and helping out for the common good are Catholic Social Teachings we strive to model at Salvado Catholic College. It is so very important that we teach all our students the importance of charity and the genuine desire to help other people, and not just to get something in return. We want to make Jesus real for everyone!
Our Primary Cross Country today, was another great day, even with the showers! All our students had a real go and there were some fantastic individual efforts. Congratulations to all participants and to our place getters. Our Cross Country Champion House winner and individual awards will be presented next week. Thanks to all the staff and parent helpers and spectators on the day, and in particular to Mr Loh and Mrs Goff for organising and coordinating the day.
I have been busy meeting with families for enrolment interviews over the last few weeks. It is wonderful to continue to hear from our new families the reasons why they are choosing to send their child/ren to Salvado Catholic College. It is also pleasing to hear of the positive reputation we continue to have in our community. A great team effort, not only by all our amazing staff, but the positive conversations had by our families at the College in the community.
We come to the end of a very busy and challenging Semester 1. Thank you to all our students for their efforts and hard work, and to our parents and carers for their cooperation and support too. It had been great to start having parents/carers helping out in Learning Spaces again in the Primary Learning Spaces. We hope that this continues into Semester 2. Thank you once again to our staff who continue to be amazing and going above and beyond in their roles at Salvado Catholic College. We are very blessed to have such a dedicated and hard working team who have once again shown their commitment to the students and each other. They are very deserving of their holidays coming up! Thanks SCC Team!
We look forward to our Benedict Liturgy next Tuesday. Please take the time to have a read about the Benedict Day Liturgy and Activities planned in the section above.
We wish Miss Tara Maciupa (Middle School Teaching Practicum) and Isaac Cornish (Year 4G Teaching Practicum) all the best as they complete their studies. We hope they have enjoyed their time at SCC this term. We have loved having them here.
It is hoped that our College community enjoy our new eNewsletter format. As we continue to grow as a College, we want to be able to share lots more! We will keep you informed with other changes to our communications as we roll them out!
Have a wonderful break and enjoy family and friends time. Safe travels for all those traveling by road or air these holidays. See you all back on Tuesday 19 July!
Peace & Happy Days!
