MLA News

In MLA we have been learning about Multiplication and the link to Division. Students have been given opportunities to play games, identify maths in real world contexts and use hands-on materials to consolidate their understanding of these topics. Students completed a Think Mat to show their understanding of  multiplication by representing the equation multiple ways. 

We have also been focusing on skip counting, repeated addition and arrays to assist students with recall multiplication facts and their related division facts. We have played games in partners and small groups to improve the students recall of their facts and give opportunities to collaborate and share their strategies and thinking. We have also explored arrays in our environment by going on an Array Hunt and identified the number sentences to match.
