In Term 2

In Term 2, the college Music Department participated in the ACC Music Rehearsals which involved many of our large ensembles.  These rehearsals were in preparation for the combined ACC Music Concert which is held in Term 3.

Early March we headed to St Joseph’s College for the first ACC rehearsal. Our Senior Drumline students led out with Mr Peter Robertson demonstrating the rhythm, beats and choreography.  The Senior Choir sang through ‘Like a Drum’ by Guy Sebastian & David Harris, while the Junior Choir sang a beautiful lyrical piece called ‘Towards Infinity’ by Paul Jarman.

At the end of March we took our Junior Concert Band as well as our Wind Symphony to Emmanuel College for the 2nd ACC Music rehearsal.  It was great to see them work together with students from other ACC colleges learning their individual parts for the songs and putting it all together at the end.

To finish off the rehearsal, the entire cohort sang the well-known and classic tune, “You’re the Voice” by Johnny Farnham.  This combined item will be the finale for the September ACC Music Concert.
