First Aid

We have students in our college with life-threatening allergies – most apparent is anaphylaxis due to contact with nut products. This is a medical condition that causes a severe - even fatal reaction to specific foods. These reactions can be triggered by contact, ingestion or inhalation.

Staff are aware of students and staff who have anaphylactic responses, including nut allergies. Our staff are trained in understanding and dealing with Anaphylaxis (severe allergic reactions).

We would like the school community to be nut aware and if possible to limit sending foods containing nuts or nut products to school.

· Students are encouraged not to share food.

· Students are encouraged to wash hands thoroughly after eating.

These considerations are in place to ensure our College is a safe place for all students.
