Self-Portraits in the making

All classes have been mindful in the Art Studio working on their Self-Portraits and unique backgrounds. The Junior, Middle and Seniors have been exploring different techniques, materials and inspirations. It’s been an absolute joy watching students get in the ‘Art Zone’ and create masterpieces they’re proud of. We cannot wait to get back in the studio and finish this special unit of work.

Physical Vibe

A big congratulations to all our 2021 school leaders. I am extremely excited to be working closely with the House Captains to ensure our sporting events are fun for the whole school community. Head over to the Student Leadership page to learn more about your House Captains.

House Swimming Carnival

On Wednesday 24th February year 4, 5 and 6 students will (thinking positively) attend the annual House Swimming Carnival at Crib Point. It is going to be an action packed day with a combination of competitive and novelty events for the students to participate in. Students will be able to wear their house colours with pride whilst cheering on their peers. A special order has been placed for a nice sunny day - those who attended last year will still remember the four seasons we experienced in the first hour of competition.

Parents and spectators who attend need to abide by current DHHS regulations regarding COVID19 pandemic. Upon entering the venue all adults will be required to sign in using the QR code which will be on display at the pool entrance. All parents and spectators (over the age of 12) are asked to carry a mask and if unable to maintain a physical distance of 1.5m the mask must be worn.

So get your swimmers ready, grab some house coloured zinc, make some streamers and practise singing your House chants!

Crib Point Aquathon

Check out the awesome event that is taking place at Crib Point Pool on Sunday 21st March. Would love to see some students from Cranbourne South give it a go!

Environmental Studies

The Patch

We have had some beautiful signage placed around our indigenous/bush tucker garden.  The students helped Mr Corcoran identify the correct plants so he could put the right sign in the right place.

Nature Play

This week the students were asked to create a painting without using any paints, paper or paintbrushes! This led to some wonderful exploration and discoveries of our natural environment.

Kitchen Garden

We continued working through our Food Safety course and were lucky to have Mrs Corcoran join us and I am happy to report she passed with flying colours! In the garden we were busy completing our wheelbarrow license.

Environmental Science

Renewable and non-renewable energy are the focus of our sessions this week as we moved through our last rotation of choc-chip mining. The students have been thoroughly engaged in this exercise and have shown an excellent understanding of how we obtain energy from the environment.
