PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

This, my final newsletter article for 2020 is to be one of hope. Of love. Of celebration. I would like to wish our entire community a wonderful Christmas and I pray that 2021 will be a year of health, happiness, family and calm for all of you. You have all inspired me with your courage, resilience, care, humour and desire to what is best.

In a crisis, the true nature of people is laid bare and this has been especially so at The Riverina Anglican College. This is a wonderful community and I am proud to lead it.

The two excepts provide me with inspiration and with a sense of humility at the end of a year that we will not soon forget, but a year in which we learned a great deal about ourselves and what is truly important.

Merry Christmas.

Timothy 1:15-17

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” by Dr. Suess

…So he paused. And the Grinch put his hand to his ear.

And he did hear a sound rising over the snow.

It started in low. Then it started to grow.

But the sound wasn't sad! Why, this sound sounded merry!

It couldn't be so! But it WAS merry! VERY!

He stared down at Whoville! The Grinch popped his eyes!

Then he shook! What he saw was a shocking surprise!

Every Who down in Whoville, the tall and the small,

Was singing! Without any presents at all!

He HADN'T stopped Christmas from coming! IT CAME!

Somehow or other, it came just the same!

And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow,

Stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so?"

"It came without ribbons! It came without tags!"

"It came without packages, boxes or bags!"

And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.

Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before!

"Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store."

"Maybe Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!”…
