Health Centre News

By Nurse Cecile

Last week our teachers completed their annual first aid course - Provide First Aid & CPR. as well as an annual Anaphylaxis and Asthma update.

As you are aware there is a full-time school nurse supporting your child’s health needs at Brighton Primary. We also need to assure that there is always a first aid officer who is able to assist an injured or ill person around the school onsite, when at excursions, sporting events and camp activities.

Attending these training sessions ensures that we are able to provide effective and efficient care for your child if they are injured at school.

Our school takes pride in ensuring that your child’s health is a priority.

We are also committed to ensuring that we comply with the Infection Control standards of maintaining a COVIDSafe school and review our practices to ensure they meet the appropriate guidelines. As you are aware, the requirements in relation to COVID-19 are frequently changing. At present, the current information regarding managing children with illnesses during COVID-19 is here.

All parents and visitors are required to wear a fitted face mask when attending school indoors. We would like to thank all parents for their help in keeping our school safe.

It certainly has been a smooth start to 2021. It is wonderful to see the children settling back into school so well. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns regarding the health needs of your child.

Thank you,
