Stage 2

Our English Goal - To plan, draft and publish an informative animal text. 

Students were able to choose an animal they were interested in.  Next they searched for a factual text using an online library (EPIC).  Then the students planned their ideas using headings.  

Next students were asked to use their plan and draft to create an informative animal text, which also included visual features e.g. a labelled diagram.  Teachers were very impressed that some technical vocabulary was used e.g. habitat.  

Our Maths Goal: To solve addition and subtraction using efficient strategies e.g. compensation, jump or split.  

Stage 2 Teachers loved seeing students using different strategies to solve and check their answers.  Well done Stage 2!
