Aussie Student Inventions Competition

ClickView is our College video content resource for primary and secondary teachers and students. Each year they offer students opportunities to develop their skills by participating in an inventions competition.  The 2021 Aussie Student Inventions Competition is now open to all student s(Junior and Senior). The search is officially on for Australia’s most innovative students. Each winner will get an incredible mentorship opportunity and $3000 cash.

What next?

All competition details, including curriculum links and how to enter, are now available on the ClickView website. There are also past winners to check out and a series of short films on famous Aussie inventions. Entries will officially open in August, during Science Week.

  • Entries will close on 17 September

Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge:

There continue to be some glitches with verifying books so please let me know if you have any issues with your child’s accounts. I have added the title “Give me Some Space” which was the title for National Simultaneous Story Time this year and read across our Junior School. At the moment, despite verifying all books logged for all our Primary students this title is only showing as verified if I manually go into each student and click on the book. If you notice that one of your children has had the title and another has not do not panic! I will be slowly working my way through to fix the problem!

Some students may now also show all their titles as verified. I will continue doing this as we go to avoid the issues we ran into on the day the challenge closed!

Congratulations to the following leading students: Tommy Brown, Johnny Fenton, Harley Kearns, Ruby Price, and Violet Shrive who are currently showing between 53 and 17 titles! Awesome work from all concerned.

Thank you also to Tom Templeton for sending me a very professional email in the holidays requesting his username and password. All class teachers have a copy of these details, as do I, so please ask if you need to know how to log in and register books.

There are 66 days left before the portal will close.

Best wishes to all.
