ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

What a wonderful day was had at Jubilee Oval last Wednesday for the School Athletics Carnvial!

The day started off with glorious weather, however the wind and some dark clouds did find there way to the oval. Luckily we were able to complete our track and field events with some fantastic results.

Namoi and Cox competitors participated with great sportmanship and continued the close rivalry that they have each year. Once again it came down to a single event to separate them, the tug-o-war determined the winner. ~ NAMOI

Even though there can be only one winner in each age group, the students who participated on the day are ALL winners in our eyes. All of the Sacred Heart Core Values shone through ~ WE ARE SAFE ~ WE ARE RESPECTED ~ WE ARE LEARNERS.

Congratulations to the following individual winners who received GOLD MEDALS:

Minor Boy ~ Dougie Watson

Minor Girl ~ Ellie Rodstrom

Junior Boy ~ Jeremiah Talbott

Junior Girl ~ Evie Watt

Senior Boy ~ Tom Watt

Senior Girl ~ Felicity Gough

The following students qualified to represent the school at the Armidale Diocesan Athletics Carnival to be held in Tamworth on Friday 13th August:

Sacred Heart Olympics Day

In the spirit of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, the students participated in their own Olympics last Thursday with everyone dressing up in their country colours and having lots of fun! Our students participated in some geography quizzes, Olympics trivia and learnt some Olympics history. Once again, the enthusiasm and friendships of our students shone brightly.

The students went home with many medals around their neck and were very proud of their efforts.

Tennis

Tennis will begin for all students this Wednesday 4 August. The lessons will be held at the Tennis Courts and students will walk across accompanied by their class teacher. The school has tennis racquets, however if your child has their own and wishes to bring it to school, please ensure that their name is clearly marked on it. As mentioned earlier, the Tennis Permission Notes are on Compass and students must have consent to be able to go across to the courts to participate. If you are having any issues consenting online, please contact the school office before Wednesday.
